Terms of use
This site is free for anyone who wants to learn Tadaksahak or get to know the Idaksahak. That freedom comes with one condition: credit the authors.
The whole site is open to everyone, free of charge and without an account: dictionary, grammar, tales, broadcasts, reports, library works (including full texts published with their authors’ consent), photo gallery, news, Tadaksahak TV (news bulletins and programmes on video) and the Tudú assistant. Signing in with a Google account is optional.
Each work, photo and text remains the property of its author, whose name appears alongside it: writers, researchers, photographers and speakers who shared their knowledge.
Any reproduction, in full or in part (quotation, excerpt, image, word list, translation), must state the author, the title of the work, its year and the source: the site’s name and the page address. Reproduction without these references is prohibited.
Each library page offers a ready-to-copy reference. For a thesis or an article, cite the original edition first, then this site as the place of consultation.
For commercial use, republication or full reproduction elsewhere, ask the author’s permission; write to us and we will pass on your request.
Account (optional): if you sign in, we keep only your Google account identifier, email address, name and profile picture, with the dates of creation and last sign-in. This data is used solely to recognise you; it is never sold, shared or used for advertising. A single cookie, needed to keep you signed in, is set (30 days). To have your account deleted, write to the address at the bottom of the page.
Questions to Tudú: the questions asked to the assistant and its answers are stored (with the language, the date and, if you are signed in, your account), so that it remembers the conversation and so that the site team can follow and improve the service; the team can read them. Attached files are never kept, only their name. The space set aside is limited: the oldest exchanges are deleted automatically. Do not write sensitive personal information in them.
Audience measurement: no advertising trackers. The site counts page views in aggregate; to count unique visitors, it computes an anonymous fingerprint renewed every day, which cannot be linked from one day to the next. The country of a visit is derived from the address at the time of the visit, then the address is forgotten: no IP address is stored. Words searched in the dictionary are counted per day, with no link to the person (e-mail addresses, links and numbers are never kept), to find out which words to add. Browsers set to “Do Not Track” are not counted.
Tadaksahak TV: its audience is measured separately, in the same way; each viewer’s country is derived from their IP address at the time of the visit (DB-IP database), then the address is discarded. If you declare support for the journalist (a gift, a monthly contribution, buying a weekly), your name, your phone number and, if you give it, your email are recorded so that the TV team can confirm receipt and reply to you; they are never published and are deleted on request. The money is sent directly to the journalist: the site never receives it.
Comments on Tadaksahak TV: the name you choose (or “Anonymous”) and the text you write are published under the video and may be removed by the team. To limit abuse, the site keeps a fingerprint of your device, computed from your IP address and browser (never the address itself); it is erased after 90 days. To have a comment removed, write to us.
An error, an author to credit better, a document to remove? Write to the address at the bottom of the page.
